Last month we announced that we would no longer burn backup sets onto DVD. Due to popular demand we will now be burning small sets onto DVD again (orders less than 30 Disks). We have also added a number of hard drive options to allow larger sets to be purchased. There have recently been a large number of TOSEC updates - the largest number of releases since 2007. welcome...introduction
You have probably visited this site because you've heard about MAME*, or perhaps you are curious about retro-gaming in general. Chances are you've been trawling the Internet in the vain hope of finding copies of your favourite retro games or you simply want to reminisce about the good old days when you spent many hours in the arcades emptying your pockets of 10 pence pieces or waited for what seemed like hours to load your cassette based games only for them to get a read error when 98% complete. The problem with emulators and ROMS is that all you seem to find are dubious web sites loaded with explicit pop-ups, trojans and the like. MAME itself is a community built emulator, designed to preserve the classic era of arcade games; by selling MAME the whole spirit of MAME is at risk, and goes against EVERYTHING the emulation movement stands for.I do not sell Backup ROMs to make a profit. In fact I am NOT charging you for ROMs, I am simply covering material and postage costs. All stated prices include P&P. This site is a voluntary non-profit making service and not a business. Any donations received will be used to improve the services I offer customers. I only accept NoChex secure payments to ensure that both pulse-classics and you the loyal customer are protected throughout the transaction process. All goods are sent first class once the payment has been succesfully received, all media used is of the highest quality.
Feel free to copy the MAME disks that you obtain and give them away to your friends but do not resell them for profit - it is illegal to sell something you do not have rights to! If you have any questions about any of the products available on this site or you have a request for a product do not hesitate to contact me: support@pulse-classics

about us...where it all began.....
Pulse-Classics began way back in 1996 and were known as Pulse P.D. We specialised in creating menu-driven disks and began distributing Amiga Public Domain Software. When PCs first began to appear in the mainstream we began to distribute Freeware and Demo software for this medium. As PCs became more popular and with the event of Dial-Up computing we expanded further and here we are 13 years later with our own brand of products being distributed worldwide. We still cater for Dial-Up users and our excellent Freeware collections provide vast quantities of downloaded software that we have collated, organised and added to our ever expanding catalogue of titles. We now offer 40 titles ranging from Shoot 'Em Up collections to Pac Man classics.Back To Top
More...legal information
ROMs are designed for backup purposes only for
machines/consoles etc
that you legally own. Therefore you are unable to purchase Emulators
and ROMs at the same time from this site. It is not illegal to buy
emulators or to request a backup copy of a ROM if you legally own the
original or have obtained permission from the copyright owner. The vast
majority of the companies that owned the copyrights are no longer in
existence and the original formats that they were available in are no
longer sold. Its important to note that none of these games are
commercially supported. You must abide by these rules if you are
requesting a set. You will also notice that I don't offer any Nintendo*
sets as Nintendo
regard any copies of ROMs illegal. Further copyright information can be
found at the US
Copyright Office and I have included an exerpt below:
...Persons making
noninfringing uses of the following six classes of
works will not be subject to the prohibition against circumventing
access controls (17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(1)) during the next three
years...
2. Computer
programs and video games distributed in formats that
have become obsolete and that require the original media or hardware as
a condition of access, when circumvention is accomplished for the
purpose of preservation or archival reproduction of published digital
works by a library or archive. A format shall be considered obsolete if
the machine or system necessary to render perceptible a work stored in
that format is no longer manufactured or is no longer reasonably
available in the commercial marketplace....
